Event Trends for the Year of the Fire Horse 2026
What is it within human nature that compels us to look ahead and attempt to read the future? Is it insecurity, a quiet anxiety surfacing in uncertain times, or simply curiosity?
For me, it is a continuing fascination with ancient divination systems and their extraordinary capacity to describe reality. What continues to astonish me is not whether ancient forecasting systems work, but how Qi Men Dun Jia continues to reflect modern reality, with all its layered complexity and hidden currents.
The Qi Men Dun Jia chart for the Year of the Fire Horse is a Fan Yin chart. This alone signals instability, even before examining specific combinations. It points to a period of reversal, tension, and disruption, where power struggles, economic pressure, and ideological conflict converge to create turbulence.

A World on Edge
The recent tragic shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney reflects a trend identified in my annual forecast seminar on 6 December 2025 as tragic events near coastlines.
In the chart, this appears as Purple White Star #3 combined with Hurt door, both Wood in nature, positioned in the Dui (Metal) Palace. These signifies carry rapid, forceful Qi current associated with the Zhen (Thunder) trigram. When constrained by Metal, Zhen energy turns aggressive and volatile. The presence of the Tiger Deity, a carrier of destructive force, further amplifies the danger. The Ding–Xin stem combination, rich in layered meaning, evokes a stark image: a wounded young lady, Xin as the bullet, Ding as the girl. We have seen her picture on the news.
Similar incidents may occur around islands and coastal regions, particularly those associated with the North, North-East, and West. Seismic activity, sudden military strikes, fires, and explosions are also possible manifestations of this configuration.
Maritime incidents are also likely to increase. Cargo ships, submarines, naval forces, piracy or vessel seizures, and military provocations on the high seas may become recurring headlines in the coming year.
Overlaying these developments is the influence of Purple White Star #1, governing the Luo Shu of the Fire Horse year. Associated with Kan (Water, North) and the Tan Lang star of the Big Dipper, this force governs movement, desire, depth, and hidden currents. Water nourishes all things yet it conceals danger beneath its surface.
Star #1 marks initiation and beginnings. It supports study, travel, healing, and spiritual pursuits. When aligned, it converts intuition and wisdom into prosperity. When out of balance, it manifests as fear, exposing both real and imagined risks.
Under the influence of this star, gradual yet irreversible transformation begins. Economic restructuring, rapid technological advancement, and profound cultural change unfold quietly at first, but their effects are real and long-lasting.
Another prominent trend in the chart relates to nuclear energy, with increased risk of nuclear waste spillage, accidents, and land contamination. The Kun–Gen axis carries several inauspicious combinations, including Beast – PWS #7 – Tortoise, as well as Xin–Gen – Death – Snake. Offshore oil refineries and petrochemical plants face similar vulnerabilities. These are not isolated misfortunes, but indicators of systemic stress within global infrastructure and security systems.
Ideology, Control, and Civil Pressure
Globally, liberal values and freedom of speech increasingly clash with religious and nationalistic agendas. This is reflected by the Stop–Grace–PWS #2 configuration in Qian. Governance efforts, represented by PWS #6 (Qian trigram) moving through Kan, attempt to balance environmental objectives with economic survival (Yi–Wu), while managing ideology without igniting further unrest.
The backdrop, shown by Dash – PWS #5 – Geng-Ji in the Li Palace, is revolutionary: mass protests, violence, and deepening social polarisation.
Behind the scenes, infiltration, intelligence operations, and covert activity, symbolised by Moon in Kan, move into public awareness. Political leadership, represented by the Chief deity, faces heightened jeopardy through the Fear Door, manifesting as health crises (Heart), power struggles, betrayals, and, in extreme scenarios, assassination attempts.
Human Cost and Escalation
Ethnic minorities, indicated by Geng-Ji in Li, face increasingly dangerous conditions, including the threat of genocide. Violent uprisings persist across parts of Africa and the Middle East, while the probability of new military conflict in Asia remains high.
Bombings and violent incidents aligned along the South-West to North-East axis reveal recurring directional patterns, suggesting coordination and symbolic escalation rather than random occurrence.
The Larger Picture
What emerges is a world balancing on unstable ground:
economic contraction versus militarisation, civil liberties versus control, environmental responsibility versus survival economics.
These are not temporary tremors, but signs of a deeper global recalibration.
The Qian Palace is visited by the Combo Deity, signalling attempts at geopolitical reset through partnership and renegotiation. World leaders will seek to redefine rules of engagement. The Grace Star here works to strip away illusion, while Purple White Star #2, aligned with the Kun (Mother) trigram, points toward land, security, pragmatism, and common sense.
Let us hope this influence prevails.
